Technical Manager, Clinical Services

Joe Butrim is a Technical Manager of Clinical Services Delivery at Actalent. Joe has more than 20 years of clinical operations experience in Drug Development Phases 1-4 and Medical Device trials. His expertise includes study monitoring, site management, and risk-based methods. Before joining Actalent in 2018, Joe previously served as: Associate Director of CRA services and Quality Control at ProSciento; Associate Manager of Early Clinical Development at Covance (where he supported and managed study quality globally); and Recruitment Manager for Novo Nordisk A/S. He also has 12 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist. Joe has broad, extensive industry knowledge from the sponsor, CRO, and biotech perspectives. In 2013, he won the “U.S. Clinical Researcher of the Year” award sponsored by Pharma Times in the Team Competition category. Protecting study participants, maintaining results integrity, and ensuring regulatory compliance are his core objectives. Joe earned his bachelors’ degree in Cardiopulmonary Science from the Louisiana State University Medical Center.
