Actalent Partners with Girlstart on 5K Fundraiser to Advance Diversity in STEM

Event recognizes and celebrates the 40^th anniversary of Allegis Group's founding

Hanover, Md. (June 8, 2023) – Actalent, a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions, today announced that it is partnering with nonprofit organization Girlstart to hold a company-wide 5K fundraiser on July 15, 2023. The date marks the 40^th anniversary of Actalent parent company Allegis Group's founding. The 5K run/walk will support getting more women into STEM careers by raising funds for girls entering grades four through eight to attend nationally recognized STEM summer camps. The event will encourage team building and wellbeing among Actalent colleagues, while advancing a key diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative for the company.

Partnering with Actalent on this important 5K fundraiser will give so many more girls the opportunity to explore STEM skills and will help us advance our goal of increasing women's representation in the STEM workforce."

Based in Austin, Texas, Girlstart delivers year-round, intensive educational opportunities in STEM for thousands of K-12 girls across the country. Through its comprehensive programming of afterschool, summer camp and community STEM events, the nonprofit seeks to provide young women with a strong conceptual understanding of STEM subjects, and in turn, increase their interest in STEM activities and careers.

The Actalent 5K will be held by regional and divisional teams in different locations and at different times across the country on July 15. Friends and family of Actalent employees are also encouraged to participate.
