The Client

Our client is a leading non-profit health services provider in the greater metropolitan area, dedicated to offering comprehensive health, supportive, and community-based services. With over 100 years of industry leadership, they prioritize patient and customer care.

The Challenge

The client faced significant challenges in both attracting and retaining qualified talent. Despite their efforts, they struggled to bring in skilled professionals, and those they did hire often left within a few months. This high turnover rate heightened their staffing issues, creating a cycle of instability and inefficiency. The shortage of experienced staff not only hindered daily operations, but also threatened the overall quality of care provided to patients.

The stakes were high for our client. Without a viable solution, they risked receiving fines from the Department of Health due to chronic understaffing. Additionally, the inability to maintain adequate staffing levels and leadership meant that patients were likely to seek care at other facilities. This potential loss of patients could further damage the client’s reputation and financial stability, creating a critical need for immediate and effective intervention.

The COVID-19 pandemic had only intensified these challenges. The healthcare sector saw a significant recession of workers during the pandemic, and our client was no exception. Similar to many others in the industry, they found it increasingly difficult to attract quality talent in the post-pandemic landscape. The combination of these factors made it imperative for the client to find innovative solutions to their staffing crisis.

The Actalent Solution

To meet our client’s needs for candidates who could hit the ground running and handle a fast-paced environment, we leveraged market data to identify the ideal types of candidates for these roles. Understanding the client’s preference for talent requiring minimal training, we focused on finding individuals who could seamlessly integrate into their team.

The Results

Actalent’s comprehensive approach, including full-service onboarding, ensured a smooth transition for the new talent and delivered exceptional results for our client. We successfully identified and placed candidates with extensive experience who could thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle the demands of the roles from day one. This strategy not only met the client’s expectations but also facilitated a smoother onboarding process and improved retention rates.

We aimed to enhance overall performance, management practices, and alleviate the stress of the existing workforce. We remained dedicated to gathering and delivering quality feedback, which allowed us to implement positive changes, significantly improving the work environment.

Before our involvement, the client struggled with an overworked staff and a shortage of committed workers, many of whom were part-time. By focusing on recruiting full-time licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, and healthcare support professionals, we effectively addressed these issues. In 2024, we placed 150 employees for the client.
